Gypto Alqalaa Pharma established for pharmaceutical manufacturing in Egypt

In April 2025 Al Qalaa International Group established Gypto Alqalaa Pharma (Egypt), a joint venture with Gypto Pharma dedicated to the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products in Egypt.

The venture operates across a 180,000 square metre complex with an annual capacity of 280 million units, produced on four sterile and ten non-sterile production lines. Output spans close to 75 commercialised products across 24 therapeutic areas, from anti-infectives and cardiovascular medicines to large volume parenterals and ophthalmic preparations.

Gypto Pharma brings established manufacturing partnerships with multinational originators including Roche, Sanofi, Otsuka, Abbott, Aspen and Jodas, under joint venture, toll manufacturing, second brand and technology transfer models.

The venture aligns with Egypt Vision 2030's pharmaceutical sector development objectives and with the group's own mandate around national health security and access to affordable, high-quality medicine.
