Chairman Eissa Ateeq Almazrouei on capital horizons, national mandate and why the group measures itself in decades.
"We invest in the foundations nations are built on — and we build them to last." That sentence has guided the group since its founding, and it sets a standard that is harder to meet than it is to say.
Building to last means accepting returns that arrive slowly. It means declining opportunities that would look excellent this year and poor in five. It means structuring ventures so that accountability for delivery sits with people who will still be there when the asset matures.
Over the coming decade the group will continue to concentrate on assets that a growing region cannot do without: infrastructure, industrial capability, medicine supply, secure information systems and the essential services that daily life depends on.
Our partners — in Switzerland, Australia, Egypt and beyond — share that horizon. That alignment, more than any single transaction, is what I consider the group's real asset.
